Trimbakeshwar Shiva Temple is a renowned and ancient Hindu temple which is situated at Godavari River’s source and is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas’ abode. The extraordinary and truly fascinating feature of the Jyotirlinga situated here is that the Linga is 3-faced which embodies Tridev, Lord Brahma, Lord Shiva and Lord Vishnu. The Trimbakeshwar Shiva Temple was constructed somewhere between 1740 and 1760 by the 3rd Peshwa Balaji Bajirao. The temple has entry gates on all the four sides and as per the spiritual conceptions, each of them denotes different aspects.
