HOW TO GET TO TRINCOMALEE
- By Plane: The city does not have an airport on its own and serves on an airbase that is situated 7 Kilometers west of the city. Operated by the Air Force, there are commercial flights that fly from Colombo down to Trincomalee. Additional to this, private seaplane operators also serve the same route. Make use of a taxi to commute to and fro the airport base.
- By Train: There are two trains that run daily from Colombo to Trincomalee, one at 6.05 am and other at 9.30 pm. The Journey takes around 9 hours and it is advised to book in advance.
- By Bus: Frequent buses to Trincomalee are available from the cities of Dambulla, Colombo, Jaffna, Anuradhapura, and Batticaloa.
HOW TO GET AROUND TRINCOMALEE
