Dating back to the period of Ravana (around 5000 years ago), the Kanniya Hot Springs finds it mention in the Ramayana – one of the most iconic Hindu Mythology books.
It is believed the hot springs emerged when Ravana struck the land with his sword. Others believe that the site was an ancient Buddhist site. Either ways, the place is rooted in history and is a pleasure to see. Touch a part of this history as you come here to explore the archeological ruins and freshen up with the hot spring water.

Good place. Nothing much to see. Bit crowded in the season. If you planning to take an steam shower try visiting off the season
Archaeological place. Seven natural hot water springs. Wonderful creation of nature. People have made the place untidy.
This location is Archeology place where there is connection with the earth magma, yet its in a safer way... old mythical stories which was driven from our Ancestors have told to us that the Great Rawana King is the one who made these Hot Spring wells. I have being to this location, its barely clean where the wells are, because the well water contains large amount of Alkaline. Due to that reason people bath in that location leaving all there junk. Also the washrooms near by are very bad to even get closer. You visit this location when there is no rain. For a better experience.
