Head towards Fort Belmont and you will see a perfect replica of the majestic fort that existed until 1864. Along with the fort, you will be able to view replicas of log cabins dating back to 1860s, hand-built prairie sod house, 40-foot tower, 1902 Delafield Church, a museum, and a trading post. Since the fort is located on a large open field, kids can also play many outdoor sports here. The place is blessed with a pleasant atmosphere and cool breeze. A decent place to spend an hour, Fort Belmont deserves a visit when you are in the neighborhood with some free time on your hands.

Fort Belmont Reviews & Ratings
Very Interesting ! Even though it was closed, we were still able to walk around and tour the buildings and peek inside. The sod house was very cool, as was the fort tower. Interesting items throughout the trail. I intend to come back when they are open and get a tour.
Nice place to take a side trip off the Interstate - - - takes you back more than a hundred years - - - excellent restaurant at the entrance
Interesting mix of 19th and early 20th century items and a friendly staff I was able to get my 18 wheeler in and out of there by going over the grass a little if you are going in a semi go when there is no snow
An unusual and positive spot to visit in SW Minnesota of all places. There's a sod house and other neat structures to enjoy. Bring the kids...
This is a wonderful piece of living history. Someone at one time hung on to the right material(s) and at some point it ended up here at the Belmont Museum, which is loaded with local & surrounding history. The gentleman in charge the day we were here was very informative and pointed out other things of interest in the area. Plenty of parking, clean rest room, and a nice selection of small gifts, including some gift created by locals.
