Te Urewera Reviews & Ratings
Photos from the midway hut, recently rebuilt (that's whoever did that!) after burning down around 2016. It's around 3hrs walk from the car park. You need to take everything as its very basic. Has a fire, half dirt half concrete floor, no bunks. Longdrop nearby.
Great part of New Zealand bush
Wonderful isolated island worth the half hour paddle by kayak. Peace and tranquility and timelessness await...
Huge area with loads to do. Can be rugged and remote. Be sure to get accurate, up to date information before you set off and go prepared. A beautiful part of the country.
Lake Waikaremoana is just such a cool place to camp and be at one with nature
