Casa Jaguar, Tulum Reviews
Amazing food and cocktails! Service is on "island time" so it's a pretty slow dining experience. But the atmosphere is beautiful (candle lit, had some sage going) and the cocktails come pretty quick. So just get some drinks, sit back, and enjoy! On the pricier side, dinner for two with a few rounds of drinks was $150 US.
Saw a beautiful sunset on the rooftop. We were only there for drinks. Bartender's [almost] first words: There's no drinks menu, choose from that platter of fresh fruits and those bottles behind me then I'll make it. All 4 of us got something delicious. Mine had mescal guava starfruit, etc served with a lemongrass straw. There are boutiques inside and trees growing through the property in a way that seems popular in Tulum.
Beautiful place, great service, the best tuna taco we have ever had. The only thing is that it was very hot at this time of the year (July), we strongly recommend adding some fans to the place. Out of that it was amazing.
Let's start with the good stuff: the place itself is gorgeous and really takes you into a mystical jungle experience from the moment you walk through the door. The food is good, both of my plates (shrimp aguachile and the octopus in salsa macha) were nicely executed, cocktails are also pretty good. This place also hosts amazing electronic music parties at night. Time for the buzz kill: the service was not only not good at all (slow and inefficient), but the bill included an outrageous 20% service fee which is an ILLEGAL practice in Mexico. The tip is optional and is by no means to be included in the total. It also usually oscillates between 10% and 15%.
Beautiful place to enjoy the dinner with great atmosphere. The food options are really good. We enjoyed the desert soooo much.
