Coba Pyramid, Tulum Reviews
We got a tour through the ruins and it was great! Seeing the pyramid was awesome. You can climb it to the top and look out over the trees which is really cool. It was quite crowded, however. There is a lot of walking involved so make sure to wear good shoes. If you are able to climb the pyramid, I highly recommend it. That is the best part of this place. It can be a bit scary though as there is no real stairs and is literally a climb!
This place is truly fun and amazing. Try to arrive as early as you can because it can get super busy with tourists. Feel free to rent a bike or have someone ride the big bikes for you. This place will give you an amazing workout if you decide to walk it but its not for the faint of heart. Don't forget to tip the people driving you around, this is their only source of income. Also, buy a water protector for you phone. It rains on and off at the park (you are in the middle of the rain forest). Cash is king and Pesos are your best bet.
Climb the pyramid!! There are rumors they might not let anyone climb it any more so climb it while you can! It wasn't hard getting up the pyramid, but getting down was a little tricky. Be careful and take your time getting down. There is only one rope down the center of the pyramid. The views from the top of the pyramid are amazing!!! There is a lot to see. You'll definitely need to rent the bicycles and/or a tour guide. There is a lot of ground to cover.
Very cool place, definitely worth an hour drive from Tulum, etc. Lots of tour guides at the entrance, and bike tours/rentals a short walk past the gate. We walked in on our own and took about 15 min to get to the main pyramid. Wear shoes!!! We weren't prepared and wore sandals. Climbed the pyramid anyways but would not recommend!
I had a great day here. Arrive early, enjoy the view from the top. Tourists are plentiful, on bikes and careless, so watch out for yourself. I enjoyed a couple beers by the lake while I waited for the bus back to Tulum. Bring water. Download the tour to your phone.
