  • Overly priced trendy place. The cocktails we're almost 20 USD! The setting is nice but massive, everybody comes here to be seen and to see others. So dress up when you get here. When came on a Friday evening and the place was really packed with people. The bar zone in the back looks really nice and you can see a lot of beautiful dressed ladies.

  • Phenomenal! Excellent service. The best steak I've ever had. They take service here seriously. Decent price range. The ambiance was superb. I throughly enjoyed my meal here and the company as well.

  • Great place but pricey, plates are worth it though as you get great food and a good portion as well. Drinks are fair priced and there is a good selection. The atmosphere is laid back and enjoyable when they have live music!

  • Cool ambiance with mostly outdoor seating. Friendly staff and the food was good but not great. But the parties on Friday night is a ton of fun! If you’re in Tulum, you must visit!

  • Beware of SCAM! This place will take advantage of tourists, has the worst service, and is a poor representation of the hospitality and culture of Tulum. After reading through several other reviews, it appears that our issues are a normal occurrence at this restaurant. 1. They don't have a phone. Hello! It's 2018 calling... 2. Once we arrived we should have taken the hostess's poor attitude as an indicator of what to expect for the rest of the evening. 3. They made us wait about 10 minutes to be seated when hardly anyone was at the restaurant to begin with (it was 8pm). 4. Our group had communication with an events manager ahead of time to arrange pre fixed menus for our group, with a fixed price for the entire group which was of course changed upon receipt of our bill. They ended up trying to charge us 2k for a group of 13, with 4 vegans who hardly ate anything, and each person had one drink. That's $150/per person. The food was NOT worth that, and certainly not the service. 5. They offered no solutions to help and instead invited about 8 staff members to circle our table, insult the women in our group, and "watch" us to make sure no one left until we paid the ridiculous amount they demanded. Once we finally agreed to pay, they asked that we split up our payment into several credit payments that took almost an hour. 6. To add insult to injury, people in our group left with food poisoning that night and ruined the rest of the their trip. I almost hesitated to write this review because I'm confident under the current management that this place will be closed indefinitely by this time next year. There were SO many amazing, incredible, affordable places with MUCH better food and service to visit. Don't waste your time, energy, or money on Gitano.
