Ramapo Dunderberg Trailhead Reviews & Ratings
This is a good walking area, not for people with bad knees and who can't cope with walking on rough ground. Take plenty of water, food and snacks, there's no facilities (toilet at Tuxedo railroad station). If you go by train from NYC give yourself plenty of time to get back to the train. One star lost because on the Yellow route (which we walked) there wasn't any great views to speak of, just looking over a small lake at one point, but we did see plenty of interesting insects.
Beautiful walking area. Perfect for pictures
Walking is easy from Tuxedo, good range of terrain and views from Almost Perpendicular and above Claudius Smith's Den. #leavenotrace
Beautiful trails with so many different route options! Easy access from the Tuxedo train station. Worthwhile to get a map (there’s a booth at the farmer’s market every Saturday) since there are so many different trails that crisscross, though they are pretty well marked. Make sure to bring in enough water because the water sources are not always reliable. Enjoy your hike!
Beware of the rattlesnakes! V good hike!
