The Jaycee Park is a public park located in the Van Horne Avenue of Tybee Island. The park is a five-minute walk away from the beach. The park has a pavilion with three picnic tables and a grill. The park also has a gazebo which is very popular as a venue for weddings. The walking and biking paths in the park are very well-maintained and pass through a scenic route. Apart from this, the park has a playground, two shuffleboard courts, a basketball court and soccer fields.
Jaycee Park Reviews & Ratings
My kids enjoyed this park. It was a nice place to stop off and let them burn off their leftover energy. The park offers usage for multiple activities and so would attract kids of all ages. There is a small playground with varied play equipment. It has a baseball field. There is a path that leads over a small body of water. Sadly, people threw a lot of trash into the water and we were unsure of how safe it would be to go into the murky water to clean up the mess, so we just left it. There are some large beautiful trees beyond the path and some games painted onto concrete. The bathrooms were not the cleanest and my girls complained that the stalls do not have doors. One other thing I will mention is that we walked up on a dead bat. I am not sure why it died or how common that is, but as always be aware of where you and your kids step.
We usually wind up here when we visit Tybee. We ride our bikes from the campground. There is little shade here, but the playground equipment is fun. There is a bigger playground behind the library near the YMCA that is much bigger and shaded.
If your up to wanting a peaceful walk with nature all around this is the spot. Sit awhile and take a load off and just listen to the song s of birds.
Nice quiet Park can walk your dogs and kids can play
This disc golf course is a 9 hole course. The tees are not very easy to find. Several holes have a low canopy and the sandy soil prevent the discs from skipping.
