City Palace And City Palace Government Museum - Review
The city palace is a beautiful construction from the era of the royals in Rajasthan. Sitting amongst the several palaces that have been built around Lake Pichola, this one is a gorgeous sight to see.
This palace might be one of the largest of its kind with intricately carved archways and delicate architecture. The influence of both Mughal as well as Rajasthani styles is quite apparent. It was built by the rulers of the Mewar kingdom. The Badi Mahal is especially stunning. Not only is the architecture quite beautiful, it also holds a pond of sorts within it. The Mor chowk has pretty stained glass work done in peacock motifs. The City palace is certainly a treat for the eyes. It is a surreal experience to walk the corridors and get an idea of what majesty the Rajasthani royals lived in.
If you have the time, you can also view all the surrounding palaces that are built in similar styles but with different elements. You could easily spend an entire day exploring this beautiful area. Be sure to try and find out more about the many tales and stories associated with the royals from locals or guides. There are a few ghost stories too.
City Palace Government Museum is basically a large chunk of the main city palace that has been the pride of Udaipur for centuries now. The part that is open and has been converted into the City Palace Museum is full of beautiful rooms, adorned with mirrors and royal tiles that will take you back into history in no time. This palace was built after Amar Singh I was born. It took almost 400 years to be completed and the intricate details will show you why.

City Palace And City Palace Government Museum , Udaipur Reviews
Nice place! Well maintained. Awesome crowd 😁 Suggestions: Come her with at least 4-5 hrs in hand, time would fly once you enter this place.. hire a guide., then you would come to know the history. Camera and phones are allowed.. so carry a camera to capture nice pictures of this historic place.
It's a beautiful place to visit. From my experience if you are ready interested in knowing the history find a guide inside the premises of the palace. It will be worth the money. Park your vehicle outside u might need to pay a lot to park the car inside. U get to see glimpse of the beauty of Rajasthan palace here.
One of my favourite Palaces since my childhood. The grandeur & magnificence of this palace is ineffable. You should definitely bring a great quality camera or camcorder with you as it is allowed inside the palace you and capture some great shots. If you're a lover of artifacts or history, wars or tales of valour and courage then it is a great place for you. I'm sharing you some glimpses of this astonishing fort (including both inside & close views & distant views taken from Ambrai) Happy exploring 😇
Nice place to visit. Many foreigners also come here as it is not only the place of Indians. Actually this place inherited by the West Bengal government right now but previously many years ago it was under the rule of Lord Clive and Queen Victoria whose model architecture statue is made inside the hall. Myself as a visitor today experienced every single thing kept as a preservative of old culture of the British people how they spend their daily life and main things used in the battle by them
Take a nice camera with you at this location. You will get some good shots throughout your journey inside palace. Camera is allowed here unlike mysore palace. Specially when u reach the top floor of the palace you will get some really nice views from the windows and balcony at the top. Also the narrow passages are a different experience.
