Located in the outskirts of Ujjain, the Gadkalika teple is devoted to one of the Hindu goddesses, Kalika. This is the same Goddess who is supposed to be the Goddess of poet Kalidas. This is considered to be the same temple where Kalidasa got his boon from the deity. Although this temple is not very old, it is supposed to be at the same site where the earlier temple was present. The ancient temple of Kalika was reconstructed by King Harshwardhan of Thaneshwar when he visited Ujjain. A visit to this temple is a must during your Madhya Pradesh tour.
