Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga - Review

There won’t be any single Hindu who wouldn’t know of the Mahakaleshwar temple of Ujjain. One of the most visited temples in India, it holds a lot of religious significance as it houses the lingams of Mahakalesvara, Omkaresvara and Nagachandresvara kept in the lowest, middle and the uppermost part of the temple respectively. The Mahakaleshwar lingam that you find inside this temple in colossal in size and exudes great spiritual influence. Other than the Jyotirlinga, you will find stunning images of Ganesa, Kartikeya and goddess Paravati in the garbhagrha. The walls manifest the traditional eulogies of Lord Shiva. A visit to this temple will leave you smitten with Indian culture and tradition.

  • The most benevolent place for peace - The abode of the Lord Shiva. Nothing as fulfilling and auspicious as the glimpse of the divinity. Only the people bargaining their business around the vicinity are spoiling the sanctity of such sacred places, usually Hindu temples. No such crowd is seen around calm Churches or Mosques.

  • Clean and devotional ambience. Transcendental to visit Lord Shiva's abode. A few good street food options nearby.

  • This is one of the Jyotirling Temple of India. It is an ancient Temple. It is a Serene place. It is always crowded with pilgrims round the year. You can offer your prayers here. The crowd is managed here very efficiently. I have been here about 2 times. It was a wonderful experience being here.

  • This temple, one of the oldest in India, has references in the great epic, Mahabharata, which means that this temple is at least 5-6 thousand years old! This glorious, well maintained temple, is dedicated to Lord Shiva, who is worshipped as the "Lord of Time" (kaal in Sanskrit/Hindi means time) here! This temple is also one of the 12 Jyothirlings dedicated to Lord Shiva! A must visit for a complete spiritual experience!!

  • A GOOD PLACE..... WORLD FAMOUS. but a VIP Cultures from Hindu temple should be rejected by All Hindus.... GOD is same for all and whom so ever visited there they have to spend time as a common man over there. VIP culture look like any one can have a right on GOD with handsome money in his hand. Mahants of temple ask for Good amount to visit for special entry and GARV GARAH DARSHAN This culture has to be stopped in Hindus temple so that everyone can be same for God.
