Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga, Ujjain Reviews - Write a Review

  • This temple is splendid, grand in its making. You can even have a glimpse of great ancient Indian architecture inside . But, it is heavily commercialized. I hated it! Everybody inside is just trying to sell you something or another. Please try to maintain the sanctity of the holy place.

  • Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva and one of the twelve Jyotirlingams, shrines which are said to be the most sacred abodes of Lord Shiva. Possibly dating from 6th century B.C., this 3-storey temple is one of the holiest devoted to Shiva. Must visit ...

  • Arrangements are really nice.... then there's a bus run by temple committee through which you can travel other famous places too on a nominal cost.... really a grab it kinda deal if u r solo traveller..

  • Visiting Mahakaleshwar is always a high spiritual experience. On the other hand the behaviour of the volunteers specially around the main jyotirling area is very harsh and they don't even know how to speak politely. There is no facility for old age persons. Needs many many improvement.

  • I would rate this temple in minus (-). Because this temple is for people and people has to wait for hours in a queue. There is a big partiality for rich and poor people. If you have money, you could join small queue. Also, you are not allowed to go inside with your belongings. I would not suggest this for girls s girls our ladies have to left their mobile outside. I visited here 3-4 times but couldn't see lord Shiva. Don't waste time. Simple message to management - stop commercializing temples and dont' hurt feelings of common people. Thank you.
