Oesol Memorial Hall is the birthplace of famous Korean language scholar, Choi Hyeon-bae. He was popularly known as Oesol. He lead ‘Hangeul Matchumbeop Tongiran’ (the Proposal for Unified Hangeul Orthography) and wrote many books to promote Hangeul. His contribution through his work actually helped in making a significant establishment of Hangeul culture.
At present, the memorial hall has an exhibition hall, an experience hall, a Hangeul (Korean language) classroom and a multipurpose auditorium. The hall holds collection of items belonging to the scholar. You don’t need to pay any entry fee to take a tour around the hall.
