Underberg is an administrative town in the Mzimkulu River Valley of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Hence, this town experience similar kind of climate like that of KwaZulu-Natal. It experiences sunshine throughout the year with temperate subtropical climate, making Underberg a year around destination to visit.
Basically two primary season is experienced in this region of South Africa – summer and winter.
Summer (October – April): Sunshine does happen, but expect occasional rainfall. Hence, if you are travelling in this season, remember to carry an umbrella with yourself. Thus, in spite of scorching sun rays the temperature sometimes does fall down because of rainfall.
Winter (May to September): Winters are mild in this part of South Africa. Rainfall does not happen in this season. Hence, the climate remains mild and dry which makes it easy for travelers to explore this town. That’s why this season is sometimes considered as the peak season for Underberg.
As per the logic, winter is the best time to visit Underberg. But there is a high chance that most of tourist spots will be crowded. But at the same time, this season is perfect to explore the wild life. However, if you can bear extreme hot temperature, summer can also be considered as the alternate option.
