Established in 1982, Nanda Devi National Park is also known as Nanda Devi Biosphere Reserve. Nestled in the state of Uttarakhand, Nanda Devi National Park was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the year 1988. Lying at an elevation of 3,500 meters, Nanda Devi National Park is divided into the inner and outer sections. May to October is considered as the best season to visit Nanda Devi National Park as the park offers breathtaking sights and great wildlife watching during this period. According to the natural history, the region had been inhabited by the Mongolian, Himalayan, and Aryan indigenous people. The park house 312 floral species including 17 kinds of rare plants, while the wildlife of Nanda Devi National Park includes Himalayan deer, tahr, leopard, bear, and langur.
