Located around 35 kilometres from Vadodara, Narmada canal is the biggest canal in the state. Even though not much of a typical tourist attraction, the canal is a beautiful place for a small picnic. You can see solar panels installed here which is part of the renewable technology used in the state for sustainable energy.

The canal runs for more than 500 kilometres, sourcing its water from Sardar Sarovar Dam and running through the state of Gujarat into the neighbouring state of Rajasthan. The canal is famous for being one of a kind since it can reach elevated areas with the help of electric pumps. Currently, the Narmada canal forms an important source for irrigating in Gujarat and Rajasthan and for visitors, this place has become a loved destination for a short road trip when in Vadodara.
