The Raopura Tower was built in 1896 and was design in Indo-Saracenic style with a clock on every side of the tower. The special thing about this tower is that it was built using the funds collected by the locals of Baroda who wanted to create a beautiful structure in memory of Maharani Chimnabai who was the first wife of Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III.

The tower used to be the central spot of the old fort. Today, it forms an ethereal structure at the heart of the city- standing out from the surrounding haze of shops and busy roads. It is said, in the past the clock would chime with music every 15 minutes. Today, even though silent, it still manages to grab the attention of those passing by. Come here to see the architecture of the tower and to admire a historic part of the beautiful city of Baroda.
