While the Upper Barrakka Gardens are a definite must visit, the Lower Barrakka Gardens too are a wonderful sight to see if you are not hard pressed for time. They provide a different and very lovely perspective to the Malta harbor and are a lovely place to hang out after a day of sight-seeing.

The soothing sounds of the sea in the distance, the salty sea-breeze and the unique vantage point that they provide make a truly heady mixture for the lover of some peace and quiet. They are never as crowded as their twin Upper gardens and have beautiful flowers and green trees that make a visit quite refreshing. A nice stroll around the gardens is a must do while in Valletta for a meditative mind.

  • A public garden in a very quiet part of Valletta. Amazing views from this garden. A good place to relax.

  • Quiet place to sit down in the shade of trees and olive trees and enjoy the view over the three cities.

  • What a nice and sweet corner! Benches look at the harbour, and all around stands out a considerable sea-scape. It takes very little to love this place.

  • A hidden oasis in the bustling city. Like uper barrakka, this place has stunning views however the garden feels tropical and is much more lush and green. The monuments and statutes are lovey and it makes for a great photo spot or a place to relax!

  • Nice gardens with good views. Quieter that the Upper Baraka.
