Belgard Kitchen, Vancouver Reviews
I've been here during lunch and dinner, the dinner menu was far better than lunch. The gnocchi is highly recommended and I was pleasantly surprised with the vegan pizza. The Wagyu meatballs which are really popular were mediocre. There's a great beer and wine menu. The venue was buzzing on the Fri night I was there, the decor and high ceilings are awesome. A great place to catch up with friends!
First time at this place. Been wanting to come here for a while now. I also enjoyed not having to wait thanks to a reservation. The decor is lovely and so is the atmosphere. Our waiter was friendly and we were served promptly. Ordered the Wagyu beef skillet and it was delicious! The beef was slightly overcooked but with the tomato sauce, I didn't really notice. I also normally don't like potatoes but they were so tasty, especially mixed with the sauce. Definitely not lacking in flavour. Also tried a couple of the beers as this place has their own brewery. Can't wait to come back for another meal.
This place is the best of both worlds for me: an affordable chic/hip restaurant serving finely tuned dishes that are full of flavor. The meatballs and the cauliflower dishes are a must! They have an amazing selection of craft beers. wine and beer flights are cheap too, and a great way to sample a bit of everything ! give this place a try, it’s in a sketchy neighborhood and you definitely want to make sure your car is locked; however, the restaurant’s food and lively ambiance make it totally worth it.
Eh. Food is nothing to write home about. Ambiance is good, so it's good for large parties. Beer selection is 'lean'. Service is slow (Sunday evening). All in all an okay experience. Update: downgraded to a two star a couple hours after our meal. We don't feel like we had a good meal though we ordered multiple dishes, and the salt content has left a dry feeling in our mouths. We feel that they didn't focus enough on the food, but focused too much on the aesthetics. The food feels "empty" and insincere because of that.
Great atmosphere, personable service and amazing food at reasonable prices- this place serves it all. I ordered the Mediterranean Skillet for brunch and was blown away by the dynamic flavours of the dish. The Polenta and eggplant were cooked to perfection. The tomato sauce had a well-balanced red wine flavour that added to the dish without overpowering the flavours cream sauce. Our server was very friendly and despite the restaurant being busy, regularly popped in to ensure that we had everything we needed and that our mugs were filled with coffee. I will most definitely be returning for brunch and will be back to try their dinner menu.
