Fisherman's Terrace Seafood Restaurant, Vancouver Reviews
Good dimsum but it's a long wait. We called to make reservations and they said we would still have to wait a bit not realizing they meant they didn't take reservations at all. Great food and great service none the less. I wish they used the pager system so we could've explored the mall while waiting for them to call our name.
Dim sum for two: $60 ... Including main dishes that was around $16 each. Pros: they have English menu, food is priced competitively, dim sum was fresh, despite the large amount of people, we got in relatively quickly. Service was fast and getting the food was fast. Cons: charges you tea...even after we told them we just want plain water. Staff pretended he didn't understand what we were saying. Food for thought: lots of free parking, book ahead of time for large group of people, can get quite loud.
Fisherman's terrace is famous for its Dim sum brunch. For night dinning it is not as busy as the brunch. Food is decent but easy to park and lots of tables available even if you don't have reservation. Convenient located on the top floor of Aberdeen mall.
We did a peking duck dinner. Very good. We tried it at a different restaurant and fisherman's was better. The soup was very sweet and full of flavor. The almond soup dessert was very popular. I was told it's exceptionally good for your skin by my mother. I thought it tasted good and mostly drank it for my health, but I wasn't crazy about it. The fish done 2 ways has a nice presentation for picture taking, but wasn't my favorite. Went back another time on this trip. Again solid food. We have been to this restaurant in the past. It remains a solid choice.
Parking is free but be warned, Aberdeen has the second worst parking facility in the lower mainland. Best to come on any day other than Friday or Saturday night. They serve Hong Kong style Cantonese dishes. Enjoyed the winter melon soup here.
