About Granville Island, Vancouver

Granville Island isn’t exactly an island. It is more of a Peninsula that is also one of the most popular shopping districts in the city of Vancouver. It is quite easily accessible by land as well as via ferry and is an exciting place to be at in the city.

Shopaholics will find this place to be a piece of paradise. The retail stores of varied types dot the area and make it the ideal place for the fashionista for sure. But there is also a large number of quirky, interesting shops selling unique or handmade items that make great collectibles and souvenirs. The range is astonishing.

With over 70 amazing restaurants, it is also a haven for all the food lovers. You should try out the locally made ale as it is fresh and delicious. If you are neither a foodie nor a shopaholic, you will be able to find a decent theatre scene as well as cinemas here. In short, there is a little bit for everyone.

Though not an island in the truest sense, the Granville Island is still a very exciting place to visit. Granville Island, Vancouver Reviews

  • Free parking, wonderful markets, and stunning views. This is a "MUST GO" tourism spot. You will likely spend hours here and you won't be sorry about the time you spent! Check out the local businesses in this area...some of our favorites included: Liberty Distilling Public Market (and everything inside it) Lobster man We didn't budget enough time to spend on the Island and would definitely spend more time if we ever get back to Vancouver!

  • Granville Island is a must for tourists in Vancouver. It's got an indoor produce market as well as many specialty shops for things like desserts, meats, and spices. It's also a great place to get souvineers which have actually been made in Canada by local artisans. If you're a fan of photography there are a lot of unique shot opportunities. Basically Granville Island is just a fun vibrant spot to spend your afternoon!

  • Great place for a day trip, plenty to see and do. If you want to try some decent brews, head to Granville island brewing for a beer tasting.

  • Great arts and crafts and makers spaces and markets and theatres and shops :)

  • Love the market, a nice Sunday visit, tasty brunch at Bridges.
