Opened in 1889, the Hastings Park Racecourse is the city’s longest used sports facility. The races of Thoroughbred horses on the BC Cup Day are the highlight of the year with some of the most gorgeous horses running the grounds. On any other day the place still hosts races that you can bet on and maybe even win!

The place also has a restaurant where you can dine while you see the races live.

  • Very small racecourse. Food is generally limited to food trucks & basic fast food. Betting on site quite limited but available. Most seating is either ticketed or reserved for members. Nice grass hill if you want to bring a picnic rug but note it's not close to the finish line. Can get quite close to the horses in the stables & viewing area

  • One of the most worthy places to spend time if you are interested in horses and racing. There's no need to gamble, but having a drink and taking in some excitement adds an old timey air and dimension to life that no other places can match in Vancouver.

  • I was only here for the weiner dog races... Unfortunately, you're not allowed to bet on dogs in BC. Not many dogs even crossed the finish line but it was all good fun to watch.

  • What's not to love? Beautiful views of the water and mountains. Horses racing their hearts out. Screaming crowds. Booze. Fast food. Gambling.

  • Had a wonderful day at the track watching the horses and feeling all the excitement in the air and noticing the minimal amount of spectators i didn't place a bet (not my thing anymore) i did manage to capture some unique photos
