Osteria Savio Volpe, Vancouver Reviews

  • By far the best meal out in 5 years. So impressed by the family style. Had a huge selection of food. Service was the best, as soon as I thought of something I needed it was there before I could ask. Everything was so clean. There were lots of people waiting reservations are a must. Crowded but still was easy to talk in our group. Great wine suggestions. Will take everyone I know there for a special night in the future.

  • Environment is nice and friendly. Food quality is good (very good in certain cases) but prices are very high for what you actually get. Servers are not very knowledgeable about food/beverages (they just talk very fast without knowing what things actually mean). Salame was nothing special, pork tenderloin I got was not good (too much fat) and knife didn't really cut and the veggies were not well made. If you ask for 200$ for a dinner for two EVERYTHING needs to be perfect otherwise there is no point in paying for that. Nice effort but definitively they need to improve.

  • After getting so many recommendations to try Savio, it was an utter disappointment. The atmosphere was lovely, the restaurant was full and loud, but we could still hold a conversation and the lighting was on point. I felt the server suggested too much food and our table would have been overflowing with plates and our bill through the roof if we had ordered the number of dishes she recommended. Overall, the Italian was sub par. I ordered the ‘from the oven’ pork special and it was dry and flavourless with a side dish of potatoes. I would NOT recommend. Maybe I’ll get back to try them a second time, but I’m not going out of my way to do so.

  • Delightful evening with friends in this lovely Osteria in Mount Pleasant. Interior is light and airy yet warm and relaxing. Noise was at a normal decibel, full house and yet I didn't have to yell across the table. Pastas were flavourful and cooked to perfection. The kale salad was recommended and didn't disappoint . Our server was friendly and engaging, her food and wine recommendations were spot on. The kitchen was more than accommodating to one of our friends with nut allergy. Apart from the dull millennial that greeted us at the door, the evening was perfect. Multi Grazie Savio Volpe!

  • We were celebrating my friend's birthday. The restaurant provided an exclusive dessert (black forest meringue pie) for her birthday. That particular dessert is not on the menu and cannot be ordered. They also wrote a birthday note in a restaurant card, the card had a recipe for a salad. Their half chicken is a good deal. House made pasta. Other protein dishes option available. Got to try their side brocolinni! Great service!
