Red Robin, Vancouver Reviews
Been here many times. I keep coming back from the mushroom swiss burger. The bottomless fries are great! You can get them seasoned or made with sweet potatoes. Both options are good. Never had bad service at Red Robin. It's a great place to watch sports (they have a few TVs around) and grab some beers.
This was the worst experience I've had at Red Robin. My friend and I ordered our fries (I ordered yam fries) to come early because we were starving, and the server seemed to entirely forget. When our meal came, I was given approximately 9 fries on my plate, and they were cold and limp, and definitely not sweet potato fries (pictured below). The burger was only just warm. The server brought back the correct fries, and these ones, like the burger, were just warm. Definitely did not taste fresh. Also, our meal seemed to take longer than normal to make, approximately twenty minutes or more. I've been to Red Robin quite a bit, typically in Langley, but this was pretty disappointing. I probably won't recommend it to my colleagues in Vancouver.
I've always enjoyed coming here, until now. From today's experience I likely won't visit again. - Table was sticky, and restaurant tried fitting 4 seats at a 2 person table. - Food came out cold and hard, didn't taste good at all. - Chicken on the salad is really small, not worth the $14.99. - Never got a water refill. - Server asked us to pay the bill before we even finished eating. I lost all respect for her at that point. Normally servers clear the plates and ask if we want dessert before giving us the bill.
Maybe expectations are higher because it's a great location? Great patio and view of Robson St. Our waitress was great but it's clear other staff not trained to support. Table was sticky ALL over even after a good wipe. Get new tables. Burger was, of course, fantastic.
The one chain in Vancouver I can really get behind. I don't know what it is about this place - maybe it's the location - but every time I come here it's just a great experience. Friendly and funny staff, delicious burgers, and changing menu with fun options, and hey bottomless fries. Treat yourself to a good time and check it out :)
