St. Andrew's Wesley Church - Review

Exuding old-world charm, the St. Andrew's Wesley United Church’s stone architecture is the highlight of the place. The church dates back to the late 19th century and is a rare treat for art lovers- the embellished windows, beautiful details, high arches and gorgeous interiors, all add to its appeal.

The place is illuminated after dark in hues of purple and blues that enhances its facets. Take a walk around the church to admire the unique design and stonework.

St. Andrew's Wesley Church, Vancouver Reviews

  • This church had been such a beautiful, positive space for me and I'm so happy I found it. I'm not religious, and I appreciate how I am always welcome to participate and enjoy the service and music in my own way. The people offer compassionate, caring, thoughtful and perceptive reflections and I know it is theirstrength and kindness that will help them with the current tragedy. I support what they do and their sponsorship of people fleeing frightening and dangerous circumstances. The community is hurting from a shocking tragedy and reacting out of pain and anger, but I am sure that members of this church know this and have compassion and understanding for those individuals as well.

  • I am embarrassed by those in Vancouver that have used Google to attack this Church. I am so saddened to learn about the death of a young girl, but this was at the hands of a sick man that needs the help of God. To attack the home of God does nothing but create further Evil. We need to express more love and forgiveness. This Church gave a stage to Roger Waters to raise awareness of the Palestinian situation, they host the Jazz Vespers that brings music and faith together and those that I have met here have shown nothing but kindness. Those that have given one star, I pray for you and hope that you find a way to gain inner peace and low your weapons of hate and that blinds you with anger. Amen

  • Fairly friendly, but very old-fashioned and backwards. There was no sermon, only a man talking about his thoughts in regards to Jesus's parable on faith like a mustard seed. He outright said that Jesus was "wrong about that" more than once. The music was very old hymns, albeit played on an beautiful pipe organ. All in all, not a very good church in my opinion.

  • Google "St. Andrew's-Wesley United Church in Vancouver - Syrian refugee Ibrahim Ali" for all you need to know about this church and a dead 13 year-old Canadian girl.

  • great Sunday service and jazz vespers at 4 pm
