The Keg Steakhouse Bar, Vancouver Reviews - Write a Review

  • One of the better locations of keg. Great service. It was our anniversary. The staff was very friendly. Food was great! Had fillet mignon. Asked for medium rare and was medium rare and tender. My partner had prime rib which was cooked well but was a bit tough to cut. Drinks were great. Their own creation of old fashioned was a bit pricey but stuff and very good. The staff made the night memorable by providing a couple tart Billy miner pie, which was as good as always. Will come again.

  • This is the best and most consistent Keg in all of the lower mainland. The service is always amazing and they have a very cozy fireplace seating area on the lower level. If you prefer a louder crowd, there is a bar area with a few TVs where you can grab a drink. If I have one suggestion,, get the prime rib. It's the best prime rib that I've ever had. Even at other Keg locations it's not as good as it is here. Have it with the baked potato with lots of fixins and you won't go wrong. Also, if you have room, have a Billy Miner Pie. At $6 it's a steal... I'm fairly certain it's not changed price in over 10 years.

  • Overall : Highly recommend the dining area, but avoid the bar. I started off in the dining area. Near the fireplace, and highly recommend that general seating area. My server was fun, energetic, and witty. Cocktails and a light meal were all I needed, as I was going to a show after. Because I was early, I sat in the dining area. Once more people arrived it was easy to transfer to the bar. We had a medium sized group of 6 people. It was tough to all fit around a single table, and the tables are bolted to the ground, so they can't be moved. Had a server spill some ceaser on me. Pants and white don't love that. Wasn't impressed. The mood in the bar is quite the opposite of the restaurant. The servers were rude and short. It felt as though we were constantly causing a headache to them. A member of our group was wondering about different beers, and started with a pale ale. He didn't enjoy the lack of flavour, and asked to sample other beers, and wanted something darker. The server recommended a lager, came back 5 minutes later and said the bar was slammed and they would be best to just order a beer. Food was served by stretching across the table and putting things in random places. The table wasn't large, so walking around and placing the food in front of the person who ordered it could have been simple. We were on a high table, circular. Very easy to move around. I will note it appeared that they were training new people, but I can't be sure because they didn't mention anything. If that was the case, informing us would have gone a long way to overlook most of the negative experiences. While the experiences for everyone else felt subpar, one thing to note that I did enjoy was that when we ordered a pitcher of sangria that they took note to refill our glasses for us. This is the level of detail that I expected from The Keg. For around $50+/head, I hope we can see some improvements in the future.

  • We've been to a lot of Kegs and this ranks up their with the best. There was one hiccup with the food but that was dealt with quickly, part of our meal was comped, and the manager came over to talk to us. Nobody is perfect but that is how you deliver excellent services to accompany the great food and atmosphere.

  • Undercooked our steaks but manager made up with it with new steaks as well a piece of cake after dinner, entire dinner was delicious and had fun. Our server was exceptional!
