West End - Review
Encompassing everything in between the Burrard Street to Stanley Park, the West End was originally a dense forest area purchased in the 1860’s by the ‘Three Greenhorn Englishmen’- John Morton, Samuel Brighouse, and William Hailstone.
With time a railway line was introduced here and soon the place turned into an upscale neighborhood- much of which are still preserved. Today, the place is popular for the Wet End Ice rink, community centers, the Vancouver Aquatic center along with a number of parks. A walk around the neighborhood is perfect to see a part of history that still survives in the city’s urban pulse.
