Iberostar Tainos, Varadero Reviews
We tend not to do all inclusive but I am so pleased we did this. It really is perfect...amazing rooms and service. Excellent food and such a friendly atmosphere. No hidden costs; it really is what it says it is. Would go again :)
We enjoyed our stay despite poor weather conditions. Entertainment team and buffet staffs were very helpful. Pool table was broken. Most of the fitness equipments were not working properly. Rooms were very clean and maid service was excellent.
Like a roadside motel with beachfront access. This place needed a facelift a decade ago. The resorts of Varadero clearly believe they don't need to try very hard for the guests. Simply disappointing. Varadero is not worth what they charge. Food was good but got food poisoning. The only bright spots are the staff who are mostly very nice, and the liquor portions which are surprisingly generous. Havana on the other hand is a beautiful city.
I have recently experienced a wonderful holiday at Iberostar Tainos. I traveled to Varadero and other places in Cuba and saw some stray Cats along the way. I am sad to hear that the Director of Tourism in Varadero has decided to exterminate the stray cat population in the region. It is undoubtedly the responsibility of the Tourism industry, that the stray cat population has increased in this area due to the number of resorts and Hotels (an increase in resources for the cat population) that are densely dotted along this beautiful strip of land. If this has become a problem, and there are Public Health concerns, it is understandable that the local authorities feel the need to take measures to alleviate a risk to public health and the Tourism industry. Nevertheless, this draconian measures are not consistent with the animal welfare standards that I believe your Company share with me and the great majority of your Customers. The management of such stray populations is dealt in a more humane way by supporting the Neutering (sterilization) of these animals, and implementation of Vaccination Campaigns, which could be delivered by the authorities and/or local Charities or NGOs working on the ground. I urge you and your partners in the business to liaise with the Varadero authorities to change the approach to deal with the stray cat population in a way consistent with the company values you portray in your sustainability reports. It would be unthinkable that a measure such as this could be taken back here in the UK, and I believe your company and others should take an active role in encouraging the humane treatment of these animals, which population has increased due to the Tourism industry, that has lead to an animal welfare issue, and a potential public health risk.
Nice staff nice rooms but its a very isolated resort
