About Amirthi Zoological Park, Vellore
The Amirthi Zoological Park is widely considered as one of the best zoos-cum-nature parks in India. Spread across 25 hectares, tourists can expect to have a lot to do once they arrive. The Amirthi Zoological Park has been operational since 1967 (and is currently in the process of receiving a facelift). Considering its proximity to Vellore city, it is a hotspot for tourists from all over South India. The zoo was once a jungle; however, one half of it was cleared to form a tourist spot while the other half was developed into wildlife sanctuary.
Tourists can indulge in some adventure trekking which leads to a stunning view of a seasonal waterfall. The Amirthi Zoological Park is usually jam-packed with people during the holidays. The animals that one can spot in the park include the famous spotted deer, foxes, pythons and crocodiles, among others. There is also a sizeable bird population which can be found here. A picnic at the park, though cliché-sounding, is a great way to spend the day, because nothing screams rest and relaxation better.

Amirthi Zoological Park, Vellore Reviews
The place : Calm and serene atmosphere. Clean and well maintained pathways. Clean toilets . Better to carry your own drinking water. The Zoo : Don't have too much expectations. The zoo has a few animals, snakes , kites, etc. The deer park is good. A nice place for kids and family. You can spend half a day here.
This review is only for the Zoo and not for the Falls. The Zoo is very badly maintained. Only the Entrance looks good to deceive us. The place doesn't deserved to be called a Zoo. I pity the one or two animals prolonging their miserable life there. There is a Road to the Falls from the Car Parking. But the Authorities are keeping it closed, make us to Take Entrance Ticket to the So called "Zoo" and from there go to the Falls by taking One more tickets. Indigenous way to make us enter the "Zoo" indeed. On the other hand, they could have used little bit of their heads to improve the condition of the Zoo.
Nice place to visit with family and kids especially, we can spend around 1 hour seeing all animal and surrounding. River will also be flowing inside the zoo. Be careful with monkeys, they check bag for food.
The park has a good exterior, however, the animals are few and kept in small shelters which are not clean. The public was also disturbing the peacocks and the jackal but there was no one to monitor and reprimand them for their actions. When we go to an animal shelter, please respect the animals. And it is their home, don't litter and frighten them. The place left us deeply disturbed. Sincerely hope the authorities give more importance to the few animals and take better care of them.
Good place for natural lovers... There is a water fall.. We can enjoy water fall in November and December that means only in rainy season.
