  • When you are in a "touristy" place like Venice, if you are not careful you will most likely end up in one of the typical pizzerias that have nothing authentic about them. We had to do a bit of research to find this restaurant and given the restaurant was inside one of the many alleys, took us some time to reach. But we were not disappointed at all- Ai Mercanti has a superb collection of Wine, great food and very helpful staff. Definitely recommend if visiting Venice.

  • Great food in a cosy venue, possibly the best restaurant we visited during our stay. The staff are very friendly and talked you through the dishes and ingredients. Pasta dishes were lovely, as are the desserts. Be sure to try the 'Apparently Crispy Egg' if it's still on the menu.

  • Great and fresh food, with a nice twist. They also have few tables for the space, which is lovely as they are obviously focused on creating a good atmosphere as opposed to squeezing in as many tables as possible... coffee was excellent too, they seem to have a special blend. Overall a nice find!

  • Very lovely place with great staff and friendly service. We had two glasses of wine which were great - and sampled two dishes. Duck breast and stuffed ravioli- really high quality and great flavours . Flawless... We’d a great time - good value for money as well.

  • Wow. Incredible squid ink pasta with tender squid, crispy yet light mackerel. The organic prosecco was dry and delicious. Highly recommend. Staff was knowledgeable and friendly, respectful. Just the right amount of attention.
