  • From booking to checkout our stay was fantastic. Paolo set us up in a balcony room right after I booked and responded immediately to my transfer requests. Then when checking in hotel manager Filippo was wonderful. He made us feel very special and taken care of. He even took some pictures for us! A gentleman at the desk, I can't remember his name, was so helpful getting us oriented with a map and suggestions and when we tried to book a gondola and they were trying to charge us too much he showed us exactly where to go. Bar service at night was a great way to end the evening. We were very impressed but how well we were taken care of. This was for our honeymoon and this was the splurge of the trip. We were not disappointed and they even had prosecco waiting for us on ice! This hotel was my favorite part of our entire European tour. Thank you. I will be sharing my experience with everyone and we will be back as soon as possible. Thank you again sincerely for everything.

  • Location of the hotel was great as were the facilities - charming venue. My room was a tad on the warm side but I was provided a fan which helped during the evenings. The staff were very accommodating and friendly.

  • The Hotel Colombina concierge and staff are out-going, genuinely nice and interested in meeting their guests' every need. The hotel is small, charming, and comfortable, tucked in behind the Piazza San Marco where it is both hidden and central. The complimentary breakfast buffet provides a very good meal and the preparation shows attention to detail. Our room, overlooking the canal, was truly comfortable, even luxurious. I can't comment on the rooms in the remote location, across the courtyard, never having seen one. I recommend paying the extra money to have a room on the canal. We requested a water taxi to pick us up on the hotel dock in the very early morning to take us and our baggage to the airport. The taxi was on time, the desk gave us a wake-up call and sent us off with a boxed breakfast. Best taxi ride of my life.

  • We have stayed at this hotel twice before. When we arrived we were given a free "upgrade" to a suite in the adjacent annexe building. Our room number was 503 (Rialto Suite). This was a much superior room to those we have previously stayed in at this hotel. The only drawback was it was up four flights of stairs. Luckily the porter took our luggage up on arrival. For those more elderly, and less mobile, I suspect access would be an issue as there is no lift. The suite it self is effectively on three levels also. Ground floor consists of a living area with minibar, coffee-making facilities and TV/stereo. Upstairs is the bedroom and bathroom where there is another TV. The bathroom was extremely small compared to the overall size of the suite. The shower cubicle must of been one of the smallest I have experienced and the water temperature was somewhat inconsistent, ranging from hot to tepid! Air conditioning in the bedroom and downstairs living area was first class. Up a further flight of steep stairs was an outdoor terraced area with a variety of seating and a sunshade. This was a welcome addition and, on balance, made up for the access and bathroom concerns. Breakfasts at the hotel were excellent with plenty to choose from. Service was good particularly at breakfast and Mark was particularly helpful on reception. All in all it was another enjoyable visit to Venice.
