The 15th century palace faces the Grand Canal. Its current look, known as the Venetian Gothic Floral style is from the 18th century. It was home to the noble Pisani family, and under their ownership has hosted important figures such as Tsar Paul I of Russia, Joséphine de Beauharnais and Joseph II, Holy Roman Emperor. Much of the Baroque interior was decorated and furnished in the 18th century. Its most famous monument is the majestic double staircase inside. The palace is famous for a masked ball held here during Carnival times – Il Ballo del Doge (the Duke’s Ball). It’s private property though, and can be rented out for official meetings.

Unless you have official business there, though, you may not be able to attend.
