About Torre Dei Lamberti, Verona

Situated in the heart of Piazza delle Erbe is the Lamberti Tower, built in the 12th century and restored later to make it Verona’s tallest tower.

Essentially built to warn the citizens of an approaching danger, the tower houses two bells:

  • Small bell – The Marangona was struck to warn against fire.
  • Large bell – The Rengo was used to call council meetings in case of attacks.

This 84 metres long tower is a great climb, for the comfort of visitors the state has installed an elevator to take you to the first level after which one has to take the stairs to reach the second level.

Climbing 368 odd stairs in total is not all that arduous when presented with the stunning view from both the levels. An excellent spot to capture the whole of Verona and feel at the top of the world (or at least Verona)!

One of Verona’s most picturesque attractions this tallest building has tourists flocking to get a glimpse of the two bells here. Torre Dei Lamberti, Verona Reviews - Write a Review

  • Beautiful view of Verona at the top of the tower. We climbed all 289 steps to the top. For those who appreciate leisure, there's also an elevator that you can take up for 1 euro.

  • If you want to have a panoramic view of Verona, go to this place and up the tower. On a good day, the experience cannot be bad. Life is beautiful!

  • It's pretty good. A quick nice attraction! You can see a very nice view of all the city from here. If you buy the Verona Card (highly recommended) , the entrance is covered and you have an option to pay €1 to go up in an elevator if you don't want to go up all those steps.

  • Great view of Verona. But not worth 8 euro per person for the ticket which gives entrance to the nearby art gallery which is nothing special. I don't know how some folks got up for only one euro.

  • Worth to see. Great viewing point. The included entrance to the modern art gallery is nice.
