Gem of ingenuity and functionalism, the Villa "Le Lac" is an architectural masterpiece. Developed by Le Corbusier in the 1920s is famous for its “white villas ". Veritable laboratory of modern ideas, the Villa "Le Lac" is among the most personal and most inventive achievements of the architect.
A small house (Petite Maison Corseaux), bound to be the home of the parents of Le Corbusier, was based between 1923-24 on the arrangements of Le Corbusier and his cousin, Pierre Jeanneret. The building outline and the arrangements had been created before picking the ground; Le Corbusier was given the errand of discovering a considerable measure and discovered the ideal spot.
This is the first illustration of the current structural engineering of Le Corbusier in Switzerland. Villa Le Lac can be seen today as a genuine illustration of cutting edge building design that would emerge soon after Le Corbusier.

Being able to visit the second home Le Corbusier built for his parents where they lived until they died is worthwhile! Located at a picture postcard beautiful location at the lake Geneve. The guide was very enthusiastic about the place and knew everything about the history. Don't forget to visit the outside terrace and enjoy the view!
Exceptional welcome at the Villa "le Lac"! At the entrance three lovely ladies welcome you as if a family friend, explain you all the architecture, tell you all the stories and…cherry on the pie…even serve you mint tea freshly picked in the garden! And when leaving, you have the impression of being part of the family!
Wonderful place to walk through if you are interested in modern architecture.
Really a great work of architecture! Was worth going to see such an intimate work of Le Corbusier.
Lieu mythique, situation inouïe au bord du lac, mobilier et agencement hyper pratique.
