Kunst Haus Wien. Museum Hundertwasser - Review

Kunst Haus Wien is the only museum in the world that houses the world’s only permanent collection of Hundertwasser's works along with putting up exhibitions of other artists. As you visit this museum, you will be amazed to see its building which is built in a typical Hundertwasser style, equipped with wavy floors and notable lack of straight lines. The building is surrounded by and looks beautiful with foliage that abounds around. Do visit this eclectic museum while you are on your trip to Vienna!

  • Number 1 must see and must visit in Vienna. Three floors of pure art. Also a 20 minutes film about Hundretwasser gives an overview about this great artist. The visit wouldn't be complete without enjoying the cafeteria. A very beautiful place to spend couple of hours of wine or beer. or even to read a book there.

  • Wow, just go to view the lower area including cafe, toilets and the shop. His philosophy of humans only being a guest of nature rang true and this can be seen in his paintings and architecture. Definitely in my top ten parts of Vienna. We came back with ideas for our own garden and house!

  • A really great place to chill and hang out. Amazing architecture, with a museum/art space on the second and third floors. The downside is bar a tour which we just missed there is little to tell you about the building itself, yes you can ask questions, but we expected more on this in the exhibition space. Statements were from the designer, so actual “fact” is missing. All the above said it’s a unique building, with loads of character. There is a gif5 shop inside, and a cafe/bar onsite, where we spent a good 90 minutes building back energy and drinking both alcoholic and non alcoholic cocktails. A very, very unique experience.

  • For me, this is the must visit place in Vienna. The exhibition shows some great expressionist art (I am not a professional so don’t hang me if I am wrong here) and also describes the philosophy and thoughts of the artist. Behind the colorful, weird, sometimes funny art there is a deeper thought of how humanity should live in balance with nature! Tree tenants unite!!

  • Great museum and exhibit. The shop and a cafe on the first floor was wonderful. I had to get a print, how can you not. Excited to put it up when I get home.
