Michaelerplatz is an interesting place in Vienna to spend some leisure time. Designed in 1725, it was actually founded by St. Michael parish church for the servants of court and the citizens in the surroundings of the Hofburg. Today, it is one of the most famous squares that exhibits impressive neo Baroque architecture. The oldest building at Michaelerplatz is the Michaelerkirche which has served as the parish church of the emperors. Do visit this square during evenings as it looks splendid and beautiful!
