  • One of the best museums in Vienna. They have a great selection of armors, guns etc. The museum covers a great span of history, from around the 15-16th century to modern times. They also have a lot of tanks on display: various models of the British centurion tank, self propelled guns, Russian tanks, French tanks etc. Wonderful experience. Cannot recommend it enough. Also the gift shop has a wide range of cool stuff.

  • Very humbling and informative experience. Easy to lose hours and hours wandering the exhibits. Amazing to see the history of the Austro-Hungarian empire and how it led up to WW1 and WW2. Franz Ferdinand’s uniform and the Car of Sarajevo are exhilarating to see in person. Helped to visualize the history we’ve all been taught, and really drives home how careful we all should be moving forward

  • Really interesting & well presented exhibition. It was great to be able to collect the printed(multi lingual) info sheets that detail the history of the campaigns & exhibits. If there's 1 thing that would help with the exhibition,it would be to have additional exhibit notes(by the glass cases) in another language & not just German. Other than that,a great way to learn about Austrias military history.Well worth a visit.

  • A very nice museum, but you should take your time. We were there for 3 hours and could not see everything because they were closing. And the focus is really on the military aspect don't expect a political landscape at the WWII theater.

  • Austria was a much bigger state than we know today judging by the military power that it used to contest for the hegemony with its European counterparts. However the display has very little to do with modern Bundesheer from 1950 onwards.
