Named after the Austrian dramatist Ferdinand Raimund, this is one of the most visited theatres in Vienna. Built in 1893, this theatre instantly became popular with the theatre lovers of the city and around. Today, it is used to stage major musical productions and can seat around 1,000 persons.For people who wish to see and understand German folk dramas and plays, this is the most relevant place. Some of the most famous premieres have taken place here such as Disney’s Beauty and the Beast in 1995, Dance of the Vampires amongst others. Do reserve for a seat here while you are in Vienna.

Great theatre, could even see fairly well from the seats at the very top. Great sound, not too loud and not too soft. English subtitles provided by screens at the front, although the timing is sometimes off...
