Roman Museum - Review
A part of the Vienna Museum, the Roman Museum was opened in 2008 to offer an insight into the history of Vienna in Roman times. It is located in Hoher Markt, a place that has got Roman origins and is Vienna’s oldest piazza. After the World War 2, certain remains of the Roman military camp of Vindobona were found underneath Hoher Markt whose artefacts have been kept on display at the Museum of Rome on the square including pottery, classical statuary, and even toys. People interested in history will especially find it to be interesting.

Roman Museum, Vienna Reviews
Very interesting museum about the history of Wien during the Roman times. It's 3 floors (2 above ground, one below). Below, they have excellent excavated Roman ruins. The two upper floors have many interesting exhibits explaining the daily lives of Romans stationed in the legion that existed where Wien is now. Even the bathrooms have a drawing of bathrooms at that time, ha! It's not too big or exhausting; we did it in about 70-80 minutes, and we read everything. It's free on the first Sunday of the month. Recommend a stop here, especially on a hot afternoon.
A very small museum, but still worth a visit. Roman building ruins in the basement too. Loved the reproduction oil lamps in the gift shop - mine works a treat!
Smart, well-curated museum made more enjoyable by its specific focus on a single topic. Great way to spend 45-90 minutes on a hot afternoon. First Sunday of each month is free.
Very well made small little museum. It will give you a very good idea of Vienna's Roman origjns. Upstares there's a lot of very usefull infography, videos and artefacts. Underground you can see a little piece of actual remnants of foundations of buildings of the Roman time.
Roman history expertly laid out and explained for all ages. A great experience in the center of Vienna.
