Establissement Ronacher is one of the most popular theatres in Vienna that have kept the tradition of drama alive in the city. Initially founded as the "Wiener Stadttheater" along with a private enterprise of the journalist Max Friedlander and the playwright and theatre manager Heinrich Laube, this theatre was built especially for the common audience (and not the nobles only). After it was established, it came in direct competition with the Imperial Burgtheater and other stages of the "official" Austria. So while you are in the city of Vienna, do attend a play here in this historical theatre to make your Vienna itinerary better and enriching.

RONACHER, found in inner-city Vienna, was built by the architects Ferdinand Fellner d. Ä. und Ferdinand Fellner d. J between 1871 and 1872 as a private Ltd. for journalist Max Friedländerand the former “Burgtheater” Director Heinrich Laube. As a "Viennese City Theatre", it appealed to a broad middle-class audience and directly competed with the Imperial Court theatres of the day. Its official opening was on the 15th September 1872 with Heinrich Laubes rendition of Friedrich Schillers Demetrius.
Very nice theater, Vampires a great show.
Very nice theather! Don Camillo e Pepone is one fabulous spectacle, very good voice interpretation, you are introduced in one wonderfull magic world of musical theather. Special respect for the "old Gina" voice. Is amazing!!! Even if is in german language, they have 2 screen with english translation.
There's a canteen in the top floor that is great value for money
