  • Hostel-ambiance with toxic buffet. If there was a lower rating than one star, this dump merits it. The only reason this place is probably still in business is because Vik is so interesting. Sincerely, the dinner buffet looked as though it were Christmas leftovers (and we were there in August). Three of the four staff members clearly preferred to be somewhere else, and one was out right rude (which was very surprising based on our experience with Icelanders generally - she would have been right at home in a NYC subway in August at rush hour). Final take away: walk away - no, run!

  • The hotel was pretty nice but not nice enough for the price. The room didn't have good amenities and there were a lot of issues with temperature and water. I could have skipped this one. On the other hand the food was good.

  • Fabulous hotel, and very understated. This is more of a complex, with several buildings laid out around the main reception, restaurant and hot tub area. The staff were friendly and welcoming and keen to ensure we were having a great time right from our arrival. We stayed in the new building that you pass on the way in, and it was very modern, spotless, and had all the usual features you would expect. The beds were comfy, and the heating an hot water were plentiful and very welcome on a cold day. The outdoor hot tub was great, and the outdoor changing facilities were very clean. The restaurant had a hearty buffet or simple snack menu, but the food was all of a very high standard. Well worth considering this hotel on your Iceland travels!

  • Only 4 out 5 because of how expensive it was... but we did need to book same-day due to an unforseen flood that closed The road to Hofn. The geothermal hot tub is a great spot to relax while gazing at the stars.

  • Fantastic hotel. Best breakfast we had during our trip. The room was great and the staff were super friendly.
