Halldorskaffi, Vik Reviews
An excellent locally owned place offering nice good food. It is a wee bit hard to locate even with the rental car Garmin. Hint: it's across the street from a boat museum which has an in-front parking lot. We shared a pizza which we thoroughly enjoyed. Then we shared a slice of Meringue Pie; very good. I enjoyed this place not only for the food but it's casual atmosphere & friendly staff.
My boyfriend had the Settlers pizza and I had the lamb sandwich. Both of them were fabulous. I didn't think that a cheese pizza would be good with currant jam, but it was great! I would definitely eat there again if I were to visit Iceland.
It is a shame. This is the worst kitchen for many years of travel. Tomato soup from a concentrate with the shredded carrots with the stale badly baked bread is a shame for the cook. Pizza - a nightmare from different products - pineapples, sausage, olives... The cutlet in the burger is from the frozen tasteless meat. Everything is prepared in the cooking oil. All products have no taste. Where these cheap ingredients are bought? in cafe there is no Internet. probably, that there was a chance not to receive a negative comment at once
Cozy and very friendly. Staff worked very hard to please. Food was very good. Pizzas we're a little overdone, but that's to be expected with wood fired oven. Still very good. Other food around us looked excellent as well. I recommend this place!
We visited twice - on our way east and again on our way back to Reykjavik. Excellent vegetarian burger and vegetarian pizzas. The dessert items were also excellent, especially the apple caramel cake. Don't expect a sign outside - it's located immediately to the right of the visitor center/shop.
