Rota Do Douro Reviews & Ratings
Decent cruise. Didn’t find any waiting for the 6pm cruise. Don’t forget to carry your bottle of wine to chill.
Nice long cruise down the Douro River. We had a nice breakfast and lunch. We took the long trip, which included the Port winery. It was a 12 hour trip, including the bus back. My recommendation is to take the shorter trip and forego the Port tasting which wasn't really worth it. Considering what you get, the price of about 80 Euros is very reasonable. Also, note that it is about 5 Euros cheaper to book directly with the cruise company than with a tourist agent.
Excellent in every way. Value, staff, quality, food amazing g value
This is a lovely trip with a few challenges. The staff are great, professional and organized. The food is plentiful and tasty. Breakfast was waiting for us immediately as we boarded at 8:45 am. It was a variety of breads and orange juice and coffee. Lunch was served at 12:30. Enormous platters were enough to feed an army. Wine bottles on the table allowing you to help yourself. At 1 pm we finished and as it turned out, we had 8 hours of traveling to go. Drinks and crisps were available at the bar. But no further meals or snacks were offered. It was 6:30 by the time we arrived at Pinhao and the Croft port winery. The guide rapidly went through a five minute description of the process. Then we were given one glass of Port. No food was available at Croft either. At 7 pm we boarded a bus for the two hour drive back to Porto. The tour company may want to re think the lengthy time after lunch.
