Joseph H. Bascom House is one of the oldest buildings in Villa Ridge. The house was originally built in 1879 and restored in 1993. This is also considered as one of the historic homes in the area. Close to the house, you will find Shaw Nature Reserve which is another important tourist attraction. The Joseph H. Bascom House has a red brick modern structure. This two-story house was built by former Confederate Colonel Thomas William Bouldin Crews. Today, the house owns many significant exhibits that are related to the centuries old kinship between humans and the eastern Missouri region.
