Joseph H. Bascom House is one of the oldest buildings in Villa Ridge. The house was originally built in 1879 and restored in 1993. This is also considered as one of the historic homes in the area. Close to the house, you will find Shaw Nature Reserve which is another important tourist attraction. The Joseph H. Bascom House has a red brick modern structure. This two-story house was built by former Confederate Colonel Thomas William Bouldin Crews. Today, the house owns many significant exhibits that are related to the centuries old kinship between humans and the eastern Missouri region.

Great place to see the natural flora of Missouri. Get a good workout while walking through several areas of different state flower species and serene settings. Was a wonderful experience.
House was nicely restored and the nature preserve offers many trails to choose from at different levels of distance and terrain.
Interesting older house located in Shaw Nature Reserve
Is the earliest, that I have ever been here in the year. Great places always. The wireless however will not stand still for a picture.
