Christian Dior Public Garden, Granville Reviews
This is Christian Dior's house in Granville, Normandy , now a museum, and grounds overlooking the beach. A gorgeous setting for the display of Dior's most beautifully designed clothes and the nostalgia that goes with that era. Well worth the trip and it' s very close to the Mont Saint Michel location, another spectacular venue.
Beautiful garden around museum. Free access to garden. Possible to take stairs down hillside to beach of Granville. Lots of different sorts of roses. Nice shady gardes. Unfortunately the tea salon in the garden is closed this season 2018.
As a person not interested in fashion ( we visited with my daughter, who is) I was expecting to be bored. However it's an interesting building, in a pretty coastal spot, with beautiful gardens. And Dior's history is interesting , given that he was around during and after WW2, and his links to big filmstars of old. So worth an hour.
Expected more .everything was nice ok. Didn't get the essence of the house dresses where great and the window lovely. But the house inside missed the Dior touch . The French touch could have been inside anywhere. Shame.
Did not visit the museum but walked through the gardens. Very well maintained.
