Situated at the foot of the town of Villefranche-sur-Mer, is a quaint chapel you just cannot miss if you are a keen art enthusiast. Probably dating back to the 16th century, the chapel was painted with frescoes by artist Jean Cocteau in 1957 in his unique style. It is dedicated to the apostle St. Peter, patron saint of fishermen. Jean Cocteau has painted the interiors of the chapel with two depictions of Mediterranean life and three scenes from St. Peter’s life. This gorgeous pink, white and yellow chapel is a must-see experience as it offers a glimpse into the history of the fishermen there.
