  • Was not expecting much before going. But my opinion totally changed when I arrived. The monument itself, and the surrounding area are astonishing. The whole time I had a feeling that I am visiting a different country, and that I'm not in the north of France. The trees, rolling green hills, the sheep, the views, just makes this place great. A very unexpected and delightful experience. If you have a chance you should definitely visit and learn some history. Would recommend.

  • Impressive. The actual memorial sculpture is big and the position is great. The area around is still scarred by shell holes etc and is planted with lovely trees. It's a peaceful and moving place, well worth a visit.

  • It was really humbling to see the Vimy Ridge memorial. We ended up walking from the train station through the town of Vimy up to the memorial, and it was beautiful. As Canadians, we highly recommend visiting if you're in France. You won't regret it.

  • Beautiful memorial. Very well looked after. Beautiful view of pastoral France. A solemn tribute to all of those men that died here and throughout the Western Front during the pitiless conflict that was the "Great War".

  • Very striking and moving location. Great information, leaves a real sense of how it was like in the trenches. The memoriam is huge and magnificent.
