Beautiful park. At the camping ground you can even find some deers just walking around. The views are just beautiful, and the fact that they have shuttle buses made more easier to explore the park. One thing that if the weather is good you have to do, is walking the Narrows, where you can walk on the clear Virgin River with 2 enormous stone walls at each side.
good NP campsite, we had a really nice site right next to the valley trail and river. I noticed some of the sites were close to trash containers and open. The bathrooms were not cleaned in the two days i was there and could also do with a update. Site hosts were friendly and helpful. If you want a site in peak season a long early morning queue will be required.
Arrive EARLY to get a site. This is a walk-in site and sites are assigned on a first come, first served basis starting at 7 AM. However, the line forms well before then. We arrived at 6:30 and were already 7th in line on a Wednesday morning. The site comes with a picnic table and a fire-pit. There are restrooms and water fill-up stations, but no showers. (However, the showers at Zion Outfitters are only about a 5 minute walk from this campground.)
The Stars aligned for us as we pulled into the campground at 4am. After an 8 hour drive. We showed up and were first in what ended up being a very long line of cars only moments after. The camp grounds first come first serve deal is a bit of an anxiety inducer if you're a planner to say the least. At 7 am sharp the very polite camp host couple emerged. By what I can only imagine being luck of the draw we were placed in 74, which after much assessment of vehicle travel, noise level, shade cover and being right along the creek, we seemed to be one of the best spots we could have gotten for a few day trip. We had easy access to the Pa' Rus walk which took us directly to the shuttle stops at the visitor center and the museum. Over all we were very pleased with the whole experience, and will hopefully return some day in the future.
Good place to camp. Very windy every night.. be sure to let your tent down. First come first serve.. I had to get there at 5am during March break and I've read 17th in line waiting for a camp site. No amenities other than flush toilets, running water. Need to shower outside of the campground.
