Sub-marine Museum - Review

A museum in a 91 m long submarine itself sounds exhilarating but on entering this historically important naval ship one is left mesmerized with the information and objects on display. One of the must-visit tourist places in Vishakhapatnam, just stepping into the museum gives a feel of how it must have been to stay and fight in this mammoth ship. Asia’s only sub-marine museum, this place is definitely worth your time. A gem of Vizag tourism!

  • A historic place of Indian defence... This place is situated in a very cool atmosphere.... Sixty rupees per head for adults.. Entering into this submarine brings you patriotic feelings in us.... You can take photos to some extent.... To explain perfectly, there will be a person who appears right after we enter into the submarine, he says nothing when we take photos but the second.person after snatched or orders to delete all the photos..... So be careful.... The only thing to do when you are caught to him is encrypt all your images and show him as they are deleted. I escaped in the same way..

  • It used to be fantastic at the beginning. But now a days, yes it's very difficult to maintain but govt. can do it. But yes inside view is damn awesome for engineering students and who want to gain knowledge of a real sub! You will enjoy it. A one time see will be enough. Hopefully exteriors will be maintain as well.

  • Visiting this museum will give your first hand experience of what the navy crew goes through in their voyage. Though the submarine is redesigned and lot of accessories removed for visitors, you still feel it as congested. Hats off to those brave mariners. For the staff on board explaining about the functions, it would have become daily routine and lost interest in explaining. Their explaining was like reading out a brochure. Most of their concentration was on moving the crowd forward.

  • Intricately built and well explained..... This place packs a lot of information for those aspiring curators out there!! Well maintained.... VUDA has done an amazing job in providing audio guides!! Well done! 🎧🎵🔔

  • If you are new to this place, I suggest you to google about submarines and related stuff before visiting inside as there are very few number of guides inside and you dont feel satisfied with the little info they give these days. I visited this place few years back and was very much excited at the good guide service ,they showed n explained inch by inch inside, made us look through the periscope too. I visited two days back with a friend again only to be guided at the entrance and at the exit. Guide service is available in Hindi and Telugu . please do little homework before visiting here for an exciting experience.
