Sub-marine Museum - Review

A museum in a 91 m long submarine itself sounds exhilarating but on entering this historically important naval ship one is left mesmerized with the information and objects on display. One of the must-visit tourist places in Vishakhapatnam, just stepping into the museum gives a feel of how it must have been to stay and fight in this mammoth ship. • It's a wonderful experience. We have been listening about Naval forces fighting in deep water, it's time you feel it. It's really tiny and one can hardly stand properly, it's a symbol of our nations strength. This submarine was a part of 1971 war and has successfully participated in it. This submarine was bought from USSR. Even if you are not very much fascinated with armed forces, you have to experience it once. This is a mere example of What man and science can achieve together.

  • Excellent experience to be inside a real submarine which has such a rich past and has accomplished so much. Looking into the various controls will overwhelm you in you are passionate about it. The staff inside is courteous and offers information. Both still and video photography is allowed inside if you get appropriate tickets. Attaching a few shots of the submarine.

  • I visited this submarine during my Vizag trip. This was a really good experience as I saw the submarine for the first time. I purchased a ticket for 40 /- and entered into it. You need to pay extra 50 /- for camera and 200 /- if you want to take video. There is one guide inside submarine. He describes all the things about submarine. After that, you will walk through narrow path, see dinning room to sleeping room, you can experience how the crews of submarine live their lives within it. I will sure recommend this place. It's really wonderful.

  • This one is an amazing museum that I have ever seen. Unique in its own way. If you wonder how a submarine look like from the inside and how it's crew members live inside it, then you must visit this unique museum. A great approach by visakhpatnam development authority to give this legend of India navy a prestigious retirement. And it's the only submarine museum in India.

  • This was some experience! Once can actually see the inside of a submarine. Loved it. Though the tour may be over in minutes, you get to see a lot and understand the difficulties of Marine sailors and especially for the people who run the submarine. A definite place to visit in Vizag for tourists as this very unique. Also definite multiple visit for kids who will enjoy it a lot.
