A museum in a 91 m long submarine itself sounds exhilarating but on entering this historically important naval ship one is left mesmerized with the information and objects on display. One of the must-visit tourist places in Vishakhapatnam, just stepping into the museum gives a feel of how it must have been to stay and fight in this mammoth ship. Sub-marine Museum, Vishakhapatnam Reviews
This submarine museum is extremely popular tourist attraction located near R. K beach area. Very busy place. There is a bit of a parking problem. I was here on 17.12.2017 at 6.36 pm. The entry fee for this place is Rs- 50 for adults. for still camera the pass priced at Rs- 60 and for video camera Rs- 100. I have to say I was very impressed the moment I entered into it. One point is to be taken there is a series of timing in the queue for language options. Just make sure you ask the in-charge before entering the museum otherwise the guide inside will start explaining in different language and will not make exception only for you. I highly recommend this place. This whole thing was actually used in a war. It was an amazing experience. Everything feels real and mechanical.
This is one of the prominent place to visit. Kindly make a note that this submarine museum only opens at 2 PM and is closed on Monday. Though the submarine looks huge from outside the space inside is very less. I was really surprised how the navy officers lived in this. The bed rooms, kitchen, dining hall and washroom doesn't have any space to even stand. I salute the sacrifices made and being made by the Navy officers for their motherland
It was a very interesting experience seeing the Submarine from inside. It is good to see something so well preserved kept for public to see and understand about how submarines were in the 1960s. The ticket is also cheap, making it easier to access. The tour guides speak multiple languages, though Hindi/English isn't their forte so understanding them can be a challenge. The beach on which the submarine rests is pretty clean, thus making the location around the submarine really nice for anyone who visits. The submarine is good for kids and adults alike and worth a visit when in Vizag.
Perhaps the most emotional and patriotic place in Vizag to watch. Loads of memories and achievements of Indian Navy are attached with INS Kursura and is a must watch for any visitor. It would take hardly 20min for the museum. People would understand the hard life and sacrifice of a mariner once they go inside and take a look at the life inside a submarine. My respect for Mariners have amplified after visiting Kursura
It is great place where you can see the actual life inside the submarine. Also the components used in submarine. Working area, operating area, dining area, washroom area, operating system etc you can physically see which is not possible for a general person. There is good guides which explains everything thing very well by the Navy department. I enjoyed a lot on this place.
